The top scorer for the Saint Ignatius varsity soccer team is this week's Student-Athlete of the Week.

Bryce Horton is this week's shining star honoree.

The senior enjoyed a breakout week at forward for the Wildcats, roaring for a host of goals.

At the Jesuit Cup in Toledo, Horton tallied three goals for the Wildcats to bring the trophy home. Horton followed up that effort with a clutch 2-goal effort vs. Solon last Thursday. Horton's two goals helped the short-handed Cats overcome the Comets at Krenzler Field, 4-1. Horton's five goals lead the team in that category.

All season, Horton has fueled the Wildcats as a physical, hard-working forward. Horton is one of the reasons the men of Mike McLaughlin '85 have a 5-0 record and sit at No. 2 in the nation.

Horton also stays involved with Saint Ignatius off the field. The senior will join his teammates in taking part in the Labre Ministry for the Homeless on Sunday. Beyond the pitch, Horton is a joyous and hard-working young man, a treasure for the soccer program.

Horton and the Soccer Cats will return to the pitch on Saturday following a 10-day break. The team will travel to Cincinnati for a match with Louisville St. Xavier, the No. 9 team in the country.

Congrats to Bryce, and best of luck this weekend!
