Gaughan served as head athletic trainer for 33 years.

For 33 years, nearly every student-athlete at Saint Ignatius High School interacted at some point with Hank Gaughan. Over the years, Gaughan has become a Saint Ignatius insitutition.

On Saturday, the man behind the scenes for so many years will be in the spotlight. The Saint Ignatius Athletic Department will honor Gaughan during Saturday's Saint Ignatius vs. Mentor game at Byers Field. A ceremony will take place between the first and second quarter.

A special announcement will be made at that time, as the Saint Ignatius community celebrates Gaughan's service and dedication for so many years.

Gaughan retired from athletic training this past spring (full story here), but he is still a teacher in the Health & Physical Education Department, teaching several classes.

Tickets for the game can be purchased online here:

A large crowd is expected, so fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. For fans who cannot attend, the game will be broadcasted live on the SIBN with full video.

We hope to see you at Byers Field on Saturday!
