The Topher Reed Show continued on Sunday.
The talented freshman ushered the Saint Ignatius varsity golf team to a third-place finish at the Reece Alexander Invitational on Sunday.
Reed completed his stellar week with a round of 72, maneuvering Windmill Lakes Golf Course with relative ease. Reed has been on a tear as of late, shooting rounds of 67, 68, and now 72. That's extraordinary for any golfer, particularly a freshman.
The rest of the Golf Cats performed well at the invitational, which was hosted by Gilmour Academy. Nick Longano piloted the course with a 77 to finish second on the team. Andrew Martin chiseled an 81, Ross Williamson scratched out an 82, and Andrew Kaye registered an 84. As a team, the Wildcats earned a third-place score of 312.
The Wildcats' "B" squad also enjoyed a nice day on the course, earning a fifth-place score of 321. Jake Moraca inscribed a 78 to lead the squad, while Jess Saunders scrolled a 79 to finish close behind.
Matt Giberti and Connor Warns each logged an 82 on the pleasant afternoon, while Zach Hazard rounded out the squad with an 83.
With a busy week of school ahead, highlighted by the Mass of the Holy Spirit on Friday, the Golf Cats will take a break from competition this week. The men of Brian Becker '77 return to the course on September 7, facing Walsh Jesuit at Pine Hills at 4 pm.
