Cleveland, Ohio - As a reporter who had the privilege and the pleasure of covering and reporting on Jeremy, Shane and Luke Farrell during my now nearly five-decade career, I would like to send out a huge congratulations to Luke Farrell on his special moment with the Chicago Cubs last night versus the Colorado Rockies in Wrigley Field.

A first Major League victory is something Luke will always cherish and here's wishing nothing but more great outings for a young man who always carried himself with class and character during his Saint Ignatius pitching career for Head Coach Brad Ganor.

I will never forget when The Plain Dealer gave me the opportunity to do a cover story on John Farrell and Jeremy Farrell in what was then the High School "Locker Room" special pull-out section.

As for Luke, this old-timer was privileged to report on "Cool Hand" during the early years of my now 11th school year writing and reporting for the Saint Ignatius Athletic Department.

It is great to see that Luke's brothers are also a part of the Cubs organization. Jeremy Farrell was promoted to minor league infield coordinator and Shane Farrell is a scout for the Cubs.

May God Bless Luke, his brothers and the entire Farrell Family, now and in the future.
