Following wins over opponents from New York and California, the Saint Ignatius prep lacrosse team is trending up in the polls.

The Wildcats have been ranked as the No. 1 team in Northeast Ohio by Burning River Lacrosse and the No. 10 team in the Midwest by Inside Lacrosse.

The Lax Cats have two games against squads in the Top 10 of the Burning River poll. The Wildcats will host No. 10 Western Reserve Academy on Wednesday and head to Lakewood for a big matchup with No. 8 St. Edward on Saturday. 

Meanwhile, the Lax Cats nearly beat both the No. 1 team in the West (Torrey Pines), falling by a narrow score of 8-7. Upper Arlington, No. 9 in the Midwest, also eked out a win over Saint Ignatius. St. Xavier, now No. 8 in the Midwest, will play the Lax Cats in Columbus on April 20.
