Hitting the road for the season time this season, the Saint Ignatius varsity tennis team did not look out of place at all.

The Tennis Cats claimed a 5-0 victory over North Canton Hoover on Tuesday, remaining undefeated at 8-0.

The victory was not an easy one, however, especially in singles play.

Arjun Brahmbhatt battled another difficult foe in Matt Warburton. Brahmbhatt narrowly won the first set, 6-4, before the tough Viking notched a 6-3 win in set #2. The third set was an epic battle, with the Wildcats' sophomore emerging with a 10-6 victory.

Brian Zhu's No. 2 singles match also took three sets. The senior dropped Set #1, 3-6, before fighting back for an awesome 7-6 win in the second set. The third set proved to be even more entertaining, finishing with a 10-7 triumph for Zhu.

Nate Day rounded out singles with a win at No. 3. The freshman returned to the court with a flourish, earning a 6-0, 6-1 win.

The dynamic duo of Jack McNally and Richie Hofstra reunited on Tuesday, and the results speak for themselves at No. 1 doubles. McNally and Hofstra combined for a 6-3, 6-3 over Hoover's top doubles squad.

Drew Barclay and Jack Showman paired up for the first time this season at the No. 2 doubles spot. The result? An easy win. The duo cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win to cap off the Wildcats' eighth straight win.

The Tennis Cats will be back at home on Thursday, hosting Westlake at Magnificat High School at 4:30 pm. University School comes to town on Friday for a 4:30 pm showdown at Magnificat.
