The Saint Ignatius prep lacrosse team headed to Columbus after a 17-6 win over University School. Unfortunately, the Wildcats could not bring home a win, losing away at Upper Arlington, 8-7, after a gut-wrenching, edge of your seat game.

Even though it close, fate was not with the Lax Cats that night, as the Wildcats had three misses towards the end of the game and some even came so close that it hit the crossbar and the post. The Wildcats scored in every quarter except the fourth, which basically sealed this early season game.

Junior Jack Moriarty had two goals – one in the early and one in the later part of the game. Sophomore and absolute stud, Michael Boehm, scored three crucial goals later in the game. Although there were high scorers on the team, there were also some players who delivered some single goals in this nerve racking game – senior Anthony Ameo, junior Nate Conry, and senior Ian Flynn.

The Wildcats gave great, astounding effort on both defense, and offense, with passing, ball movement, as well as some great saves from the goalie. However, the effort and great plays were not enough in this one. The Golden Bears prevailed in this one scoring eight goals by junior Pierce Showe, senior Ben Tjaden, junior Sam Campbell, senior Matt Marsh, senior Nikolas Schickram, senior Charlie Little, and senior Sam Decapua.

Overall, it was astounding effort on both sides of the field. The Wildcats gave it their all, but luck was not on there side in this one.
