A persistent rain throughout Northeast Ohio has forced the postponement of today's (Tuesday) Varsity Baseball season opener at Massillon Jackson versus the defending Division I State Champion Polar Bears.

Saint Ignatius Head Coach Brad Ganor and his Wildcats will attempt to get the 2018 season underway on Wednesday, when they are scheduled to host the Mayfield Wildcats at Baldwin Wallace University's Fisher Field. The first pitch is slated for 5 PM.

If things go as planned, the 'Cats will take on the North Royalton Bears in a Thursday matchup at Baldwin Wallace. It will be another 5 PM first pitch.

The toughest out remains Mother Nature.
