The Catfish hit the road this past weekend, trekking out to Baltimore, Maryland for the National Catholic Championships.

Held at the campus of Loyola University, the event has, for the past 81 years, brought together some of the best talent east of the Mississippi.

Leading the way for the ‘Cats was Tyler Hong, who continued his outstanding freshman campaign with first-place finishes in a highly talented field of swimmers. Hong took first in both the 200 Individual Medley (1:51.16) and in the 100 Butterfly (0:52.25). Hong also received the Most Outstanding Swimmer of the meet award.

The Claus brothers again put up solid performances for the ‘Cats. South Carolina commit Alex Claus took second with a score of 283.85, while his younger brother William finished third with a score of 259.80 points.

The Catfish will return to the pool this Friday for a Senior Night matchup against the Brunswick Blue Devils.
