Congrats to the Wildcats' playmaking senior captain.

A stalwart of the Saint Ignatius varsity soccer team has been properly recognized for his great season.

Alex Rohr, an anchor on defense for the Wildcats, has been named to the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (OSSCA) All-State team. The senior made second-team to rep the Wildcats.

A constant, reliable force on a young team, Rohr made a large impact for the Wildcats all season long. Seeing his first significant varsity action this year, Rohr played like a seasoned vet, rarely wavering and always playing with a controlled passion.

Rohr steadied the Wildcats' defense and worked with the rest of the backline to protect goalkeepers Ryan Mark and Peter Van Euwen. The team captain served as a leader of the youthful squad, which noted 14 sophomores among its ranks.

Rohr proved essential to the Wildcats' deep playoff run. Rohr helped to guide the Wildcats to five playoff victories, a run ending in the State Semifinals. The team only allowed four goals in six playoff games, shutting out three opponents, including tough teams in Lakewood and University School.

Congratulations to Rohr on a great season, and this well-deserved honor.
