The Wildcats (10-1), the top seed in Region 1, and the fourth-seeded Panthers (9-2) will kickoff at 7:30 on Friday night in Bedford High School's atmosphere-rich facility.

Friday night's matchup will mark the second meeting between Saint Ignatius and Euclid this season.

Saint Ignatius, in its Week 3 home opener this season, rallied from a four-point halftime deficit and defeated Euclid, 34-20, on Byers Field in Parma's Robert M. Boulton Stadium.

The Wildcats lead their all-time series with Euclid, 12-1, including playoff victories in 1988, 1989, 1992, 1993, 1996 and 1999.

Bedford's Bearcat Stadium has hosted many memorable OHSAA playoff games, including last year's 38-31 overtime victory by Saint Ignatius over St. Edward in a Division I, Region 1 final.

In the other half of the Region 1 bracket, second-seeded St. Edward (10-1) will face the third-seeded Mentor Cardinals (10-1) on Friday night at 7:30 on Byers Field in Parma's Robert M. Boulton Stadium.

This seasoned playoff observer will preview the 14th meeting between Saint Ignatius and Euclid early this coming week.
