Despite Saint Ignatius' impressive triumph over previously undefeated Cincinnati St. Xavier (8-1), USA Today's computer rankings have St. Xavier in the 12th spot and the 8-1 'Cats 20th. Undefeated St. Edward is ranked 7th by USA Today's computer data.

St. Edward is the only area team ranked in this week's USA Today Midwest and National polls

The Eagles (9-0) are third in USA Today's Top 10 Midwest Poll and 21st in the USA Today Super 25 National Rankings.

 As this corner always tells Saint Ignatius' younger players, Area, Midwest and National polls are nice window dressing for a program from Ohio, but the only rankings that matter have the names OHSAA and Joe Eitel on them.
