Without a doubt, the future of Saint Ignatius golf holds plenty of promise.

Sophomore Andrew Kaye punched a ticket to Columbus with a medalist performance at the Regional Tournament last week, and showed he belonged this weekend.

Kaye finished with a two-day score of 167 at the State Tournament on Friday and Saturday at the Ohio State University.

The promising student-athlete showed some signs of nerves on Friday, notching an 88 on the afternoon. However, as Head Golf Coach Brian Becker '77 attested, Kaye posted a great effort on Saturday afternoon.

Adjusting to the ever-tough Scarlet Course, Kaye penciled in a 79 at the end of the day on Saturday. Kaye's 88 and 79 totaled a final score of 167, which placed him tied for 41st among 72 golfers. Kaye's second-day score of 79 was tied for fifth-best among individual golfers.

Congrats to Andrew on a wonderful season! A bright future lies ahead for Kaye and the Cats.
