St. Edward (7-0) and Saint Ignatius (7-0) remain 1-2, respectively, in the seven-county area. Oh my, the "Madhouse on Madison" will be rocking on October 28.

 Canton McKinley (7-0), a team that impressed this corner during the preseason, seems to have a lock on the third spot and Avon (7-0 ) continues to come calling at No. 4. I know, most of you are too young to remember that commercial.

 Rounding out the eager 11 are the Mentor Cardinals (6-1) at No. 5; Archbishop Hoban (6-1) at a solid 6; the Hudson Explorers (6-1) have found  their way to No. 7; Wadsworth (7-0) is an elite 8th; Barberton (7-0) is working its magic en route to the 9th position; the Stow Bulldogs (6-1) are as good a 10th-ranked team as you will find this time of the season, and Euclid (6-1) rides its victory over Solon to an 11th-place ranking.

 What do Mentor, Hoban and Euclid have in common? You guessed it! The Cardinals, the Knights and the Panthers each have one setback, courtesy of the same team - The Men from Wasmer Field in Ohio City.
