Kyle Folds and the Wildcats are No. 1 in the Parma bracket.

While fighting through the adversity of a difficult schedule, the 8-3-3 Saint Ignatius varsity soccer squad still commands high respect in Northeast Ohio.

The Soccer Cats have drawn the No. 1 seed in the Parma District bracket, as the OHSAA released its Division I District Tournaments brackets on Sunday afternoon.

The Wildcats' quest for four straight titles will begin on Saturday, October 21. The squad will host the winner of No. 8 Valley Forge vs. No. 9 Rhodes at Wasmer Field at 7 p.m. following the Saint Ignatius vs. St. Xavier football game. The Patriots and Rams will duel at Valley Forge on October 18.

Should the Wildcats defeat Valley Forge or Rhodes, the blue and gold will host the winner of No. 4 St. Edward vs. No. 5 Normandy/No. 12 John Hay in the District Semifinals on Wednesday, October 25 at 7 p.m.

The District Final is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, October 28 at 7 p.m. at a site to be determined. As of now, tentative time would conflict with the Saint Ignatius vs. St. Edward rivalry contest at Lakewood Stadium. However, Head Soccer Coach Mike McLaughlin '85 said that the OHSAA will work with Saint Ignatius to avoid a scheduling conflict so Wildcats fans can attend both games, should the situation arise.

Beyond Districts, the Regional Semifinal is slated for November 1 at a venue to be announced. Information about the Regional Final, State Semifinal, and State Championship contests will be released by the OHSAA as the games draw near.

Following a 5-2 road loss to Dublin Coffman on Saturday, the Wildcats will wrap up the regular season with home contests against Aurora on Tuesday and Erie Prep on Saturday.
