The two seniors share the honors this week.

The performances of two Saint Ignatius student-athletes that the Athletic Department could not chose one student-athlete of the week between the two.

So, this week, we honor two special Wildcats as student-athletes of the week – Henry Curtis and Michael McCaffrey.

Each enjoyed a clutch performance in his own right this week, helping the team succeed at a high level.

Curtis proved to be the hero for the Soccer Cats in the team's dramatic tie versus Dublin Jerome on Saturday. Curtis slotted the ball into the net with just one second remaining in the match to tie the contest at 2. Curtis' feat allowed the Wildcats to advance to 8-2-2 on the year and overcome a 2-0 deficit.

McCaffrey, also an excellent hockey player, performed his feat for the golf team. Playing at Sweetbriar Golf Course in the Sectional Tournament, McCaffrey posted an impressive score of 74. McCaffrey's tally placed him first on the team and helped the Wildcats notch a team score of 306, good enough for the Sectional Championship.

While this marks Curtis' first time receiving the award, McCaffrey is now a three-time recipient. The senior scored a hat trick in the District Semifinal last year to earn the honor in March. And in the first week of the 2017 golf season, McCaffrey penciled in rounds of 73, 73, and 72. Success on and off the course and rink is nothing new for McCaffrey.

McCaffrey and the golf team return to the course next week at Districts, with a chance to secure a berth for the State Tournament in Columbus. Curtis and the Soccer Cats also have a trip in Columbus in mind, as the soccer squad will play Dublin Coffman on Saturday.

Congratulations to these two Wildcats on winning this honor!
