Hard as it is to believe, the season is almost over for the Saint Ignatius JV Blue golf squad.

The freshmen-heavy squad has done solid work all season, and continued its strong play on Monday afternoon.

The JV Blue Cats defeated Padua, 174-216, at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course. The team played from the white tees (69.5/125).

All six golfers enjoyed nice days on the course for the blue and gold, though one shined above the rest.

Andrew Martin broke through with a medalist score of 42 on Monday, a great score for the freshman. Sean White tallied a 43 on the tough course, while Jess Saunders shot a 44.

Matthew Giberti tabbed a 45 on the day, just behind Saunders. Liam Doyle carded a 47 and Ian Shemo penciled in a 48, rounding out a great day of golf.

The next step for the Wildcats is the Northeast Ohio Championships on October 7. Coach Tom Bogen's Wildcats will have plenty of time to rest, reset, and prepare for the fun end of the season tournament.
