A loss to the top team in the state and the country did not harm the Saint Ignatius varsity soccer team in the polls.

The Wildcats retain the No. 2 spot in the weekly Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (OSSCA) poll after Saturday's 2-0 loss to Olentangy Liberty. The Patriots still hold the top spot after Saturday's closely contested match filled with physical play.

The 8-2-1 Soccer Cats return to the pitch on Saturday, making a trip south to Columbus. The Wildcats will face Dublin Jerome at 7 p.m. on the road, beginning a 3-game road swing. The road show concludes with a contest against the No. 4 team in the state, Dubin Coffman, on October 7.

Beavercreek occupies the No. 3 spot and Archbishop Moeller rounds out the top five. St. Francis DeSales, Anderson, Medina, Carroll, and Olmsted Falls claim the No. 6 through No. 10 spots in the poll.
