The top five teams remained intact with 1. Saint Ignatius  (4-0), 2. St. Edward (4-0), 3. Canton McKinley (4-0), 4. Avon (4-0) and 5. Mentor (3-1).

 Along with its impressive 38-7 victory over 2016 Michigan big-school state runner-up Detroit Catholic Central, Saint Ignatius has defeated three teams that are ranked among the area's top 15 by cleveland.com - Mentor, No. 6. Archbishop Hoban and No. 14 Euclid.    

 Just a reminder that the Wildcats travel to Cincinnati Elder on Saturday for a 2 PM matchup with the Panthers in "The Pit."  This corner will have its weekly preview posted on Wednesday morning.

 Elder is coming off a 40-7 loss to St. Edward that saw the Eagles dominate the Panthers in every phase.
