The JV Blue Cats were rained out.

In another demonstration of the squad's skill and talent, the Saint Ignatius JV Gold golf team defeated University School on Wednesday.

The Wildcats won by a final score of 159-176, beating the rain at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course. The JV Gold Cats have now won all four dual matches this season.

As JV Gold Coach Tom Beach reported, the Wildcats played the white tees, which featured a rating of 69.5 and slope of 125.

Nick Longano and Jess Saunders shared medalist honors with scores of 38. The two notched identical scores in last week's win over U.S.

K.J. Ripich followed closely behind with a 41 for the Wildcats. Zach Hazard narrowly matched Ripich, carding a 42 on the day. John Klym notched a 46 for the JV Gold Cats, while Kyle Gerrity rounded out the pack with a 50.

The Wildcats' 159 is the team's best 9-hole score of the season. The team improved by six strokes from its effort of 165 the last time it played at Sleepy Hollow on August 23.

The men of Tom Beach return to the course next Wednesday for a dual match against Brunswick.

Meanwhile, the JV Blue Cats saw an afternoon spoiled by rain. The Wildcats' match vs. St. Edward has been rescheduled for next Wednesday at Lakewood Country Club. The Wildcats are scheduled to face Walsh Jesuit tomorrow at Brookledge Golf Course, but rain is in the forecast.
