One of the fine young men who played a large role in the Saint Ignatius basketball team's 2016 Regional Championship is coming home.

Deven Stover '16 has enrolled at Cleveland State University and will become a member of the Vikings' basketball program.

The classy student-athlete spent the last academic year at the Naval Academy Prep School. After earning a Naval Academy Appointment in 2016, Stover led the Naval Academy Prep School squad in scoring and and assists, with 13.5 points per game and 5.0 assists per game.

Stover enjoyed an illustrious career at Saint Ignatius, on and off the court. The 6'5" wing player earned four letters with the Wildcats, garnering team MVP honors as both a junior and senior and Best Offensive Player distinction three seasons in a row.

In his senior campaign, Stover topped the team with 16.4 ppg, along with 7.0 rebounds per contest and 4.0 apg. His excellent season, which ended in the Regional Semifinals, won him All-Ohio Special Mention honors from the Associated Press and a place on the AP All-Northeast Ohio District first team. Cleveland.com also named him an All-Star.

"We're excited to add a local player of Deven's ability to our program," first-year head coach Dennis Felton told CSUVikings.com. "Deven enjoyed an outstanding career at Cleveland St. Ignatius, which culminated in an epic game against Garfield Heights in the regional semifinals in the Wolstein Center. Deven has terrific size, strength and versatility that allows him to fill many roles in our positionless system of basketball. I look forward to coaching him and helping him grow."

Off the court, Stover has a bright future. Stover made the Honor Roll during all four years at Saint Ignatius.

Congratulations, and welcome home, Deven!
