As September approaches, the Saint Ignatius golf program is showing no signs of slowing down.

The Saint Ignatius JV Gold Golf team defeated Brunswick and the JV Blue squad overcame Padua on a beautiful Wednesday evening.

The JV Gold Cats, led by Coach Tom Beach, played at Sleepy Hollow on Wednesday. Playing 9 holes, Zach Hazard led the blue and gold with a 37, earning medalist honors.

The rest of the squad did well, too. Sophomore Connor Warns followed close behind with a solid 42. Kyle Gerrity and KJ Ripich each notched a score of 43. At the end of the day, Jess Saunders recorded a 44 and John Klym penciled in a 46.

The team finished with a tally of 165, beating Brunswick's team score of 195. The JV Gold Cats return to action on Saturday at the US Invitational at Windmill Lakes.

Meanwhile, the JV Blue Cats saw a highlight-worthy effort from Ian Shemo at Skyland GC. The freshman earned medalist honors for his noteworthy effort.

Sean White and Matthew Giberti each tabbed a score of 43 for the blue and gold, trailed closely by William Doyle and Andrew Martin.

As a team, the JV Blue Cats scored a 170 as opposed to Padua's 200.

Tom Bogen's men will return to action on Wednesday, August 30, facing off against St. Edward at Lakewood Country Club.
