Fairview Park, Ohio - Under the Ohio High School Athletic Association's new "competitive balance" and enrollment system, Massillon Perry and Strongsville will be competing for a football playoff spot out of Division I, Region 1 this coming season.

Of course Region 1 is where the defending and record 15-time Regional Champion Saint Ignatius Wildcats reside.

Massillon Perry moves up to Division I, Region 1 from Division II and Strongsville is back in Region 1 after competing in Division I, Region 2 last season.

Making room for Massillon Perry and Strongsville are Cuyahoga Falls and Lakewood.

Cuyahoga Falls is dropping down from Division I, Region 1 to Division II, Region 5, and Lakewood will be competing in Division II, Region 6.

The Lakewood Rangers were a longtime resident of Division I, Region 1, but with the male enrollment factors and the competitive balance, the times are changing my friends. This corner sees it as a good move for the Rangers.

We will see you Tuesday and Thursday at Wasmer Field for the continuation of the Varsity (3 PM to 5 PM) and Junior Varsity (5 PM to 7 PM) football mini camps.
