Coming off of a big 68-35 win over Lutheran East on Thursday night, the Wildcats prepared for their second game in three days as they faced off against the Lawyers from John Marshall Saturday night in Sullivan Gymnasium.

The JV squad has been on a tear, and possessed a nine game winning streak going into the contest against the Lawyers, with a 12-1 record overall.

The Wildcats' streak and number in the win column grew by one, after the JV squad earned a 71-30 win over the Lawyers.

The first quarter proved to be a very successful one for the Wildcats, and it ended with a 15-5 lead behind four points from Lukas Bielek.

The Wildcats had this game in hand early on, and were able to dig deep into the bench early and often to rest some of the starters, as well, getting some of the team's role players more playing time than usual.

The second quarter was more of the same from Saint Ignatius, as they won the quarter, 20-6, and took a 35-11 lead into halftime.

The stats at the half reflected how well the Wildcats shared the basketball and how much they utilized their bench, as they had 11 different scorers at halftime.

The third quarter was a bump in the road for Saint Ignatius, as they gave up nine points from behind the arc, and were actually outscored in the quarter, 16-14.

The third quarter was a bright spot for the Lawyers, as two quick threes by Aaron Rinard and another one by Juwan Black cut the Wildcats' lead to just 13.

The hot streak for the Lawyers would not last, as the Wildcats would take over the game in the fourth quarter, ending the game on a 34-6 run and eventually winning the contest 71-30.

After all was said and done, every Wildcat on the roster contributed to the scoring, including recent freshman call-up Chase Toppin, who ended the game with five points.

This game is the end of an easy stretch in the schedule for the Wildcats, but they certainly will be tested Tuesday night when they take the floor against Benedictine. JV tip-off will be at 5:30 p.m., with varsity action beginning at 7:00.
