Last weekend, the Saint Ignatius swimming & diving parents hosted another successful edition of the Viking Invitational.

The Wildcats performed well at the 42nd Viking Invitational, one of the top swim meets in Northeast Ohio. While no team scores were kept, the Aqua Cats did quite well in both individual and relay events.

Here is the meet recap, courtesy of head swimming and diving coach Mike Lehto:

"All three relays swam well. The team of Marcus Hong, Nick Hong, Dimitri Simcox, and Cian O'Haimhirgin placed 2nd in the 200 Medley Relay. John Hessler and Joey Libertin teamed up with Simcox and O'Haimirgin to place 2nd in the 200 Freestyle Relay. And the 400 Freestyle Relay placed third which had Marcus Hong, O'Haimhirgin, Simcox, and Libertin.

"Individually, Marcus Hong lead the way winning the 100 backstroke and placing third in the 100 butterfly. Another top five individual effort came from Cian O'Haimhirgin place 4th in the 100 freestyle and Nick Hong placing 5th in the 100 breaststroke.

"Up next is back to back dual meets this Thursday against Hawken at Hawken Upper Campus and Friday vs St Eds at CSU. Start times for Thursday is 5pm and Eds at 6pm."
