FROM BRENDAN: This coming Sunday, October 30, Running with the Cats, a service organization at Saint Ignatius High School, in conjunction with "Shanerock" will be presenting the "1st Annual Shanerock 5K Run and Walk."

The day will begin with Mass in Saint Mary of the Assumption Chapel at 7:00 am, and then the 5K Run and Walk will kick off at 9:00 am in Ohio City.

The 1st Annual Shanerock 5K Run and Walk is being held to benefit families and children suffering from pediatric cancer. It is named in honor of Shane Haddad, son of Amy and Eric Haddad '94. Shane has been suffering from pediatric brain cancer since 2010 at the age of 3. Shane's parents, family, and friends have been helping him fight this battle ever since. Understanding that they weren't the only ones with a child battling this disease, the Haddad family decided to create "Shanerock."

If you are interested in helping fight pediatric brain cancer, you can register the day of the race starting at 6:30 am in Murphy Field House, or at http://www.hermescleveland.com/roadracing/events/shanerockrunbystignatius.asp.

For any questions, contact Saint Ignatius Campus Minister Mr. Ed DeVenney at edevenney@ignatius.edu, or Amy Haddad at amy@shanerock.org.
