Cleveland, Ohio - The Varsity Basketball Wildcats will open their season on December 2 versus the Benedictine Bengals at 7 PM in Father Sullivan Gymnasium.
On December 3, the Wildcats will travel to legendary East Tech High School, where they will take on the Cleveland Heights Tigers at 7 PM.
The nights of December 9 and 10, Saint Ignatius will be competing in the Erie (Pa.) McDowell Tournament and on December 17 perennial power Columbus Northland will pay a visit to Sullivan Gym for a 7 PM tipoff.
The 'Cats' annual pre-Christmas matchup with the storied "Pups" from Canton McKinley is McKinley's home game this year and it will take place on December 23 at 7:30 PM.
On December 27, Saint Ignatius travels to Warren Harding for a 7:30 PM tip and on New Year's Eve, LeBron James' alma mater, the always gifted Fighting Irish from St. Vincent-St. Mary, will be in Sullivan Gymnasium to welcome in the New Year with the annual 3 PM matinee versus the Wildcats.
The night of January 6 will be a 7 PM matchup with GlenOak in Sullivan Gym and the first game of the tradition-rich home and home series with Coach Eric Flannery's St. Edward Eagles takes place on January 13th in Sullivan Gym at 7 PM.
Hope that whets your hoops hysteria appetite. A few more dates have to be worked out, but my, is that an impressive collection of teams for the first half of the season.
