Cleveland, Ohio - The JV Wildcats started fast with a Nigel Drummond 50-yard kickoff return to start the game and, one play later, Patrick Delahunty found Drummond down the sideline for a 35-yard touchdown pass. Jack Cannon's extra-point kick was good, and the 'Cats led, 7-0.

After a 15-yard touchdown run by tailback Jahadge "Bo" Floyd and another PAT by Cannon, Saint Ignatius was taking control at 14-0.

Following a defensive stop that forced a Detroit Catholic Central punt, the offense moved the ball into field goal range and Cannon was high and true on a 15-yard effort into the Lorain end zone for a 17-0 lead midway through the second quarter.

With time winding down in the first half, Jett Elad came up with an interception in the Wildcats' end zone to give the offense the ball with just under 2 minutes to go in the half.

In what was an impressive 80-yard drive, Delahunty connected with wide receiver Nate Conry for a 55 yard-strike that put the ball in Detroit Catholic Central territory at the 25-yard line.

After a 9-yard completion to Jack Kennedy and a no gain carry by Delahunty, Floyd was called on again and "Bo" scampered 16 yards over the right side for his second touchdown of the first half. Cannon's kick was good and the Wildcats went into the halftime break with a 24-0 lead.

Floyd and the offensive line picked up where they left off in the first half with a 24-yard gain by Floyd over the left side. Two plays later, Floyd tallied his third touchdown of the afternoon with another 24-yard effort that saw Bo run over the right side and cut back against the pursuit. Cannon was money on another PAT, and the Wildcats were up 31-0.

With a deficit-rule running clock in play with six minutes left in the third quarter, Head Coach Paul Yappel and his staff emptied the bench.

Andrew Phillips got in on the scoring with a 46-yard run for a touchdown and Cannon provided the 38th and final point of the game in the third quarter with his fifth extra point.

In the fourth quarter, the second team offense went on a nice drive that saw strong running by tailback Declan Boldy and Caden Campolieti, and a nice catch by Luke Cooper, as the 'Cats ran out the clock.

From Coach Cahill: "Overall, it was a very good team effort.  Special teams, the defense, and the offense all contributed to this win. These young men took another positive step forward in their development."

UP NEXT: The 4-0 Junior Varsity 'Cats will travel to Medina Highland on Saturday, September 24th for a 10 AM kickoff versus the Hornets' Jayvees.
