Wildcats Ranked 3rd in Opening AP Division I State Football Poll of 2016

Two-time defending state champion St. Edward is ranked No. 1 in the initial poll for 2016, followed by Cincinnati Colerain and Saint Ignatius.

The Stow Bulldogs, in the fourth spot, were the only other area team to crack the Top 10.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- How a state panel of sports writers and broadcasters rates Ohio high school football teams in the first weekly Associated Press poll of 2016, by OHSAA divisions, with won-lost record and total points (first-place votes in parentheses):
