The recap and results from The 2016 Saint Ignatius Varsity Golf Tournament at Red Tail Country Club on Tuesday.
From Coach Becker: A fabulous day of golf was played today at the Saint Ignatius tournament held at Red Tail Country Club.
Sixteen quality teams from across the state gathered to compete in the tournament with eventual reigning state champ Cincinnati St. Xavier coming out on top with a blistering team score of 295.
The Bombers were led by Cameron Frazier, who shot a 6 under par round of 66 to tie the tournament record set by former Saint Ignatius standout player Beau Titsworth.
Both of Saint Ignatius' teams improved on there earlier tournament scores.
The Varsity Team was led by Junior Michael McCaffrey, who shot a personal best round of two under par 70, which was good enough to place third overall in the tournament.
The Varsity Gold Team was led by Freshman Andrew Kaye, who shot a solid round of 76. The 'Cats will be back in action tomorrow (Wednesday) at the always competitive Medina Invitational held at Shale Creek Golf Course.
Both of Saint Ignatius' individual team scores, as well as the field team scores are enclosed. A special thanks to the Members and Staff at Red Tail for allowing us to host the tournament!
