COACH BECKER: The 2016 version of the Saint Ignatius golf team will be looking to better the outstanding
season put together by the 2015 team in which the Wildcats finished in the top three in 16
of their 18 events.

A fourth place finish in the state tournament with a team total of 639 strokes
capped off a truly amazing career for the 10 senior members of last year’s varsity golf team.

That type of season will provide the added incentive for this year’s team to achieve higher goals.

With a nice mix of young and experienced players the Wildcats should be a solid golf team.
Senior Hunter Rinkus, along with teammates Michael McCaffrey and Jake Moraca, will provide
the leadership and skill needed to guide the team in the early season.

A strong contingent of skilled underclassmen will keep the team growing through the year.

Look for names like Warns, Williamson, Grabowski, Bilardo, Corna, Ripich, Klym and Kaye to add some excitement to the team during the year.

It will be an exciting tournament season with the Kiely Cup, hosted by Canterbury Country Club, as just one of the marquee tournaments on a schedule that features some of the state's strongest golf programs.
