Congratulations go out to Saint Ignatius junior Blake Thomas, who on Monday night gave an oral commitment to further his education and football career at The Ohio State University.

A 6-4, 240-pound tight end, Thomas was obviously not swayed by the recent controversy surrounding the Buckeyes' program, as he chose Ohio State over Boston College, Cincinnati, Indiana, Louisville, Virginia and a recent offer from UCLA.

A two-year varsity letterman, Blake hauled in 24 passes last season for 256 yards. He brings athleticism, toughness and soft hands to the tight end position, and has the ability to stretch a defense by running deep patterns.
