Congratulations to Saint Ignatius senior wrestler and team captain George DiCamillo, who contiued to solidify his place as one of the greatest athletes in Wildcats history by defeating St. Paris Graham standout Ryan Taylor, 11-4, in Saturday night's 120-pound championship match at the nationally renowned Walsh Jesuit Ironman Tournament.

In improving his early season record to 6-0, George, a Virginia Cavalier recruit, defeated Taylor in the Ironman finals for the second straight year. Last season's title came at 112 pounds.

The top-ranked 120-pounder in Ohio, George went 35-0 last season at 112 pounds. That record included the OHSAA state championship at 112 and placed DiCamillo alongside Mike Buddie '89 as Saint Ignatius' undefeated state champions.

George, who earlier on Saturday became the Wildcats' first four-time placer at the Ironman, joins a select club of 10 wrestlers to win three Ironman titles. And he did it by extending his career winning streak to 43 matches.

When asked by the corner earlier this week what it would mean to him to win a third straight Ironman championship, George said it was a privilege and an honor just to have the opportunity.

Again, congratulations to George, his family (especially his proud father and inspiration, Ralph), head coach Mark Sullivan and the entire Saint Ignatius wrestling program.
