Congratulations from the corner go out to Saint Ignatius' All-Northeast Lakes District, Special Mention All-Ohio and Plain Dealer All-Star tight end Blake Thomas for receiving Honorable Mention on the Sports Illustrated High School Football All-American Team.

Blake, who is bound for Ohio State, not only was a physical and athletic receiver, but one of the most dominant blocking tight ends this area has seen in some time.

****Congratulations also go out to Coach Pat O'Rourke '90 and the Saint Ignatius varsity hockey team for going undefeated in the Father Tony McNamara Invitational at the Gale Centre (correct). The 'Cats went 5-0 en route to bringing home the tournament's Gold Medal championship and the Fallsview Hose Brigage Cup. Standout senior forward Liam Geither totaled 15 lamp lighters in the five games.

Up next for the 17-0 Wildcats' Men of Ice is a Dec. 26 face off with Gilmour Academy in the Saint Ignatius Christmas Tournament. The puck will drop at 4:15 p.m. in "The Big Barn on Memphis," a.k.a. the John M. Coyne Recreation Center in Brooklyn.
