For the third time this season and the second time this month, the Saint Ignatius Wildcats' varsity hockey team had Padua's number.
The 'Cats, with Paddy Spellacy, Colton Riemenschneider, Eamonn Walsh and Beck Schultz helping fuel the offense, defeated the Bruins, 7-0, in Tuesday morning's second round of the annual Saint Ignatius Christmas Tournament at the John M. Coyne Recreation Center.
Saint Ignatius, which improved to 19-0, has now oustscored Padua, 20-1, this season. Tuesday's victory marked the second consecutive shutout over the Bruins in a span of 18 days.
The Wildcats will play Buffalo Canisius in the final round on Wednesday at 10 A.M. If successful, Saint Ignatius will be the tournament champion.
