The corner would like to express its congratulations to Saint Ignatius head football coach Chuck Kyle '69 and Wildcats defensive coordinator/line coach Dan Corrigan '78 for being selected as the Coach of the Year and Assistant Coach of the Year, respectively, by the Greater Cleveland Football Coaches Association.

Under the guidance of Coach Kyle and Coach Corrigan, the Wildcats added another chapter to their storied and record-setting championship run by winning Ohio's Division I crown for an 11th time. The "Eleven in '11" season saw Saint Ignatius run off six consecutive victories and finish 13-2 in what was its 23rd big-school postseason appearance in 24 years. The 'Cats finished as the No. 1 team in The Plain Dealer's Top 25 seven-county poll and held prominent spots in the state and national polls.

Coach Kyle and Coach Corrigan will be honored by the GCFCA during its annual Golden Deeds Banquet on April 23 at the Crowne Plaza in Independence. Festivities will begin at 6 p.m.

The GCFCA also will pay tribute to John Carroll University head football coach Regis Scafe by presenting Regis with the association's Golden Deeds Award and the GCFCA Organizational Award will go to the highly successful Fox 8 Friday Night Touchdown show and its talented staff and crew.
