The Cross Country Senior Appreciation Dinner will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012.

The evening will begin with Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Chapel at 5:30 p.m., and the family dinner with follow at 6:30 in the Rade Dining Hall.

Bring your favorite dessert to share, as the dining hall will be open before mass to drop off your dessert.

The cost is Adults (including runners) $12/each and Children (10 and under) $5/each.

*Congratulations go out to Wildcats senior quarterback Mike LaManna, who was recognized as a Plain Dealer Player of the Week for his performance in the 49-13 victory over De La Salle of Warren Michigan. Mike threw for four touchdowns and 367 yards.

Honored and Privileged: This corner would like to express my sincere thanks to Scott H. Shook, who was kind enough to send yours truly an autographed copy of his latest book on The Story of the Massillon Tigers – “A Century of Heroes. America’s First High Football Dynasty.”

The corner became familiar with Scott’s outstanding work several years ago, when I read his memorable book “Massillon Memories.” I am truly looking forward to his latest effort, which includes a Foreword by one of the greatest players Ohio has every produced and the greatest all-around linebacker these old Irish eyes have ever seen – former Massillon and Ohio State All-American and former NFL All-Pro Chris Spielman.

We’re rounding the corner to Wasmer Field for football practice and will see you on Ridge Road and Day Drive on Saturday night.
