Here is Coach Mike Gallagher's cross country report on the Wildcats' final meet of the regular season - The Ohio Independent Schools Championships in Massillon - some special thanks and the preparation schedule for the upcoming Strongsville District Meet.
Just about perfect conditions greeted the Wildcats at the Massillon meet. Temperatures in the low 50s, no wind, and a dry course (maybe a little short), allowed numerous Wildcats to post seasonal PRs.
Once again, I want to recognize some of the parents who worked diligently to make the Senior Appreciation Night a success. First to Mary Meler for organizing the evening all the way down to corsages for the senior mothers. Second, to Eileen Maier for her photography skills, composing the senior collages, the senior book and the centerpiece Ignatius I photos. Please extend your personal thanks to her as well.
Also, Mary Ellen Huesken for organizing and seeing to all the details for the Mass. Also, for all the senior parents serving food, and to everyone for providing desserts. It was a great night! A special mention to the juniors for an entertaining and humorous tribute to the seniors, and to Bill Huesken for organizing their efforts.
Practice is no longer mandatory for the remainder of the season except for the Varsity. We will be running workouts for everyone who wishes to attend. There will be bus transportation for the remainder of this week.

Monday 3:30-5:30 p.m. Edgewater
Tuesday 3:30-5:30 p.m. Mastick
Wednesday: 3:30-5:30 p.m. Varsity Edgewater, JV/Open Meet at Mastick with bus transportation leaving Saint Ignatius at 3:30 p.m. Boys race at 5 p.m.
Thursday: 3:30-5:30 p.m. Cedar Point
Friday: 3-4 pre comp.
****Saturday: District Meet at Strongsville High School. The Varsity Race is at 2:45 p.m. The Open Race will follow the last scheduled race and will start at approximately 4 p.m. Bus transportation will be provided if needed. The bus leaves Saint Ignatius at 1:45 p.m. All team members should plan on attending to support your Varsity runners.
