The official OHSAA computer playoff ratings, which were released at high noon today, are the same as those posted by football playoff ratings guru Joe Eitel on Saturday night/Sunday morning - at least as far as the top eight teams in Region 1 are concerned.

As Eitel projected over the weekend (see the corner's story from Sunday), the OHSAA ratings have a top-eight Region 1 order of St. Edward, Saint Ignatius, Willoughby South, North Royalton, Warren G. Harding, Mentor, Austintown Fitch and North Olmsted heading into Week 9.

Under the OHSAA Harbin system, the top eight teams in each of the state's 24 regions at the end of the regular season qualify for the playoffs and the top four in each region are awarded a home game in the regional quarterfinals.

As we reported on Sunday, Eitel lists the top six teams in Region 1 as programs who control their own destiny over the final two weeks of the regular season.

*We don't know for sure how many fans in Greater Cleveland will be able to pick up these television broadcasts, but as a courtesy to our friends at Time Warner Cable, who have been great supporters of area high school athletics for many years, we have listed below a look at what they have planned for the Saint Ignatius at St. Xavier game and the St. Edward at Cincinnati Moeller tilt.

*Of course your best listening and viewing option for the Saint Ignatius-St. Xavier encounter is via the Saint Ignatius Student Broadcasting Network. Seniors John "I want my Cannon Bell back" Fanta and Greg Ziton will have the call live from the Queen City. The kickoff is 2 p.m.

Here are the listings from TWC. NOTE: Yours truly lives in Brooklyn (that's Ohio's Brooklyn), which is about a 10-to-15 minute drive to Saint Ignatius every day, and I do receive Channel 311 as part of the TWC package I have.
