As someone who was privilged to cover an abundance of Saint Ignatius vs. St. Edward football games, including the past 26 encounters between the staunch rivals, yours truly, as part of the corner's Tuesday night preview on what will be the 50th meeting, will take a look at some of the special games in the series, present extra sidelights with the current Wildcats coaches and tell you who, in my humble opinion, were the players from both schools who left a lasting impression on this old-timer.

It's the 9-0 Wildcats and the 9-0 Eagles in the regular-season finale on Saturday night at 7 in Parma's Byers Field. If you don't have a ticket, you can catch the game live over the Saint Ignatius Student Broadcasting Network. John Fanta '13 and Greg Ziton '13 will have the call from Ridge Road and Day Drive.

*As the corner reported in its St. Xavier game story (see below), the Wildcats and the Eagles have not only clinched playoff spots in Region 1, but they also have locked up first-round home games.
