The Saint Ignatius Wildcats (9-1), winners of a record 11 Division I state championships, finished second in the final Plain Dealer Top 25 seven-county football poll for 2012. The PD's top spot went to St. Edward (10-0), which defeated the Wildcats, 20-13, in this past weekend's regular-season finale.

In the final Associated Press state football poll for 2012, a panel of sports writers and broadcasters from across the state ranked the Wildcats fourth in Division 1.

Just another reminder that the corner will preview the Saint Ignatius-Austintown Fitch Region 1 quarterfinal playoff game on Tuesday night. The game will be played at Parma's Byers Field on Saturday night at 7.
