Behind a championship by junior Anthony McLaughlin at 170 pounds, Coach Mark Sullivan's varsity wrestling team finished 10th out of 25 teams at this weekend's Solon Comet Classic.

Senior Tommy Zeigler was the runner-up at 126 pounds, senior Isen Vajusi was third at 195 and seniors Jim Ferritto and Dan Lynch finished fourth at 113 and 145, respectively.

The Wildcats will now gear up for next weekend's prestigious Ironman tournament at Walsh Jesuit.

The Ice Cats slipped to 4-2 on the season after being defeated by a well-rounded Buffalo Canisius team, 4-1, on Saturday night at Mercyhurst.

Saint Ignatius was coming off a tough 3-2 home loss to Walsh Jesuit on Friday night. Canisius handed Walsh Jesuit what is the Warriors' only setback through six games, 7-4, earlier in the season.

The Ice Cats have two home games next weekend at Brooklyn's John M. Coyne Recreation Center - versus University School on Saturday at 4:45 p.m., and versus Gilmour Academy on Sunday at 6:45 p.m.
