Saint Ignatius two-time All-Ohio and All-Northeast Lakes District senior tailback Tim McVey has posted that he will be attending the Air Force Academy. Tim gave the University at Buffalo a verbal commitment in the summer, before the opportunity to attend Air Force arose.

Tim capped off his outstanding three-year varsity career at Saint Ignatius by rushing for 1,699 yards this fall and scoring a single-season school record 39 touchdowns. He also finished with a school-record 61 career touchdowns. Those touchdown marks broke the records held by former two-time All-Ohioan Eric Haddad, who played for the Wildcats from 1991 through 1993.

In the 56-0 regional-semifinal victory over North Royalton last month, Tim scored seven first-half touchdowns and the OHSAA said it will be adding that mark to its record books. North Royalton was coming off a regional-quarterfinal victory over previously unbeaten Willoughby South at South.

The bigger the game, the better Tim was. And when the opponent was overmatched, Tim was out of the lineup early - twice after one quarter, once after less than a half and twice after less than three quarters.

Tim served as a captain this fall for head coach Chuck Kyle' 69 and during his three seasons with the varsity, he was called on to return kickoffs and play safety and linebacker. He returned two kickoffs for touchdowns in 2011.
