Although Saint Ignatius Athletic Director Rory Fitzpatrick '88 has not received confirmation from the administration at Paramus Catholic High School in New Jersey, Paramus' head football coach Chris Partridge has told the media that his team will be playing Saint Ignatius during Week 5 of the 2013 season.

Rory said if the confirmation details are worked out, the game would be played during Week 5, Sept. 28, at Parma's Byers Field with the time to be announced.

Paramus Catholic finished 10-2 this past season and won New Jersey's Non-Public School Group IV state championship. The Paladins compiled a record of 42-41 from 2004 through 2011.

Entering the 2013 season, Paramus Catholic is expected to feature one of the strongest running attacks in the New Jersey-New-York area, if not the entire country. That ground game will be fueled by nationally recognized tailback Jabrill Peppers (6-foot-1, 210 pounds), who will be a senior in the fall.

You might recall that Peppers was a standout sophomore two-way player for perennial New Jersey power Don Bosco Prep before transferring to Paramus last year. Peppers played against St. Edward in 2011 while wearing a Don Bosco uniform.

Saint Ignatius had been in discussion with Indianapolis Warren Central for a Week 8 game in Indianapolis, but Rory emphasized that he has not heard back from Warren Central.

*Despite what you might have read elsewhere, Rory said as of today, 1-9-13, Saint Ignatius has only six games secured for the 2013 season.

In order to qualify for the OHSAA playoffs you must have at least eight games on your schedule.

This is how the Wildcats' schedule looks right now: Week 1 (open); Week 2 at Mentor; Weeks 3 & 4 versus Erie (Pa.) schools Strong Vincent and McDowell at Byers Field; Week 5 versus Paramus at Byers Field (if details are confirmed); Week 6 (open); Week 7 (open); Week 8 (currently open); Week 9 versus St. Xavier at John Carroll University and Week 10 versus St. Edward at Lakewood Stadium.

As always, we'll keep you posted.
