Saint Ignatius' standout senior defensive end Matt Gawlik informed the corner today that he has made a verbal commitment to Gannon University in Erie, PA.

Here are Matt's comments on his decision.

"During the recruiting process I had the opportunity to meet coaches from Ashland, Colgate, Dayton, St. Francis and Gannon, who all expressed interest in my football ability. Gannon is a Catholic university that reminds me alot of St. Ignatius, with its urban campus and coaching staff.

"I knew after my visit that this is where I would like to continue my education and play football," Matt continued. "I would like to thank the football coaches at Saint Ignatius and my teammates. Without them, I would never have had this opportunity."

The corner would like to congratulate Matt, his family and his position coaches at Saint Ignatius - veteran Defensive Coordinator Dan Corrigan '78, Coach Mark Sullivan and Coach Jim Reginelli '97.
