Wildcats basketball garners top seed at Solon

As we eluded to after the Wildcats' season sweep of St. Edward, Saint Ignatius did indeed garner the top seed at the demanding Solon Division I Sectional/District.

Coach Sean O'Toole's Wildcats are followed in the top-six seeding by 2. Garfield Heights, 3. Shaker Heights, 4. Cleveland Heights, 5. Bedford and 6. Maple Heights.

Saint Ignatius will play its first tounament game on Friday, March 1 against the winner of the sectional semifinal match up between John F. Kennedy and Lincoln-West. The tip off will be 6 p.m.

If successful on March 1, the Wildcats will move on to the district semifinals on Wednesday, March 6, where the 'Cats will face the winner of the sectional final that matches Cleveland Heights against the winner of the sectional semifinal between Maple Heights and Kenston. The tip off on March 6 would be 7 p.m.

The district championship game at Solon is scheduled for Saturday, March 9 at 2:30 p.m.
