Congratulations to Wildcats standout senior wrestler Tommy Zeigler, who brought home third place at 126 pounds by defeating Jarrad Lasko of Madison, 3-2, this morning in the OHSAA Individual State Wrestling Tournament at Value City Arena in Columbus.

Tommy finishes his outstanding career at Saint Ignatius as a three-time state placer. He was fifth at 103 pounds as a sophomore and sixth at 113 last year. Tommy advanced to the third-place match by defeating Chance Driscoll of St. Edward, 1-0, this morning. In what was described as a physical match, Tommy rode Driscoll for two minutes en route to the victory.

Saint Ignatius' talented junior Anthony McLaughlin finished sixth at 170 pounds on Saturday afternoon. Matthew Walker of Hilliard Darby won a 5-2 decision over Anthony in the fifth-place finals. Saint Ignatius finished in 22nd place in Division I with 22 points.

The corner tips its cap to Tommy, Anthony and senior Jim Ferritto (113 pounds) for qualifying to state and representing their school in fine fashion throughout the 2012-13 season.

And congratulations to head coach Mark Sullivan and his entire staff.

NOTE: The total attendance for the five sessions of the state tournament was 58,047.
