Led by its outstanding senior forward/center Miles McQuinn, Saint Ignatius had three players recognized on The Plain Dealer's 2012-13 All-Star Team for area high school ice hockey.
McQuinn, a three-year mainstay who bounced back from a serious injury he suffered as a junior, totaled 37 goals and 30 assists this past season for Coach Pat O'Rourke's Ice Cats. Miles led Saint Ignatius to a 29-6-3 record. Those efforts earned Miles a spot on the talent-rich PD team.
The perfect blend of class, heart and talent, Miles wrapped up his three-year varsity career with 115 goals and 103 assists.
Senior Joey Malone, a rock-solid and reliable defenseman and forward, and the 1-2 punch in front of the net - senior goalies Mike Mulach and Bernie Cook - were Special Mention recipients.
Congratulations to Miles, Joey, Mike and Bernie, their families, Coach O'Rourke and his staff, and the entire Saint Ignatius ice hockey program.
