Ohio City - Good news hit Wasmer Field early Thursday afternoon, as gifted senior quarterback and captain Pete Mahoney underwent successful surgery on his damaged ankle at Lutheran Hospital on Thursday morning.

Pete suffered a season-ending ankle injury (see the corner's story from Sunday) during the second session of last Saturday's two-a-days.

Several of Pete's teammates sent him well wishes via videos and this corner and the entire Saint Ignatius football program can't wait to have Pete back on the sidelines.

God Bless and rest up Pete, we all miss you.
