For those many loyal supporters of Saint Ignatius football who expressed their genuine concern for Saint Ignatius' standout senior linebacker Kyle Berger following the knee injury Kyle encountered during Friday night's Jamboree preview in Canton (See the corner's story from Friday night), here is an update.

First of all, out of respect for Kyle and his family, this seasoned reporter is not going to speculate on the extent of Kyle's injury. I leave that in the hands of the Wildcats' outstanding medical staff.

We can tell you, however, that Kyle is scheduled to be examined on Tuesday by Richard Parker, MD, Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Parker is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopic Association of North America and the International Society of Arthroscopic, Knee and Sports Medicine. He is also the Head Team Physician for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Our prayers and well wishes go out to Kyle, who remained upbeat and confident as he supported his teammates on the sideline Friday night.

Kyle is not only a great football player, but even a greater young man.
